BigTent Partners with Jumpstart

BigTent is proud to announce its partnership with Jumpstart, a national coalition to promote literacy and educational preparedness for all children in America. Since many of you out there are parents, we thought you might like to know about Jumpstart’s October 2 campaign, Read for the Record.

During Read for the Record, adults and children will team up all over the US to read a favorite childhood book, Corduroy. Jumpstart hopes to break world record for this event, and if you’d like to participate, it’s easy to find an event near you.

Throughout the year, Jumpstart aims to increase educational success for at-risk preschool children by pairing them with supportive adult mentors.

BigTent is Real Simple

Our whole staff was delighted this morning when a Google Alert popped up, telling us we were just published in the REAL SIMPLE blog, “simply stated.”

Special thanks go to Erin and Kristin, creators and hosts of Manic Mommies, a weekly podcast and national support group for busy moms. Since launching on Big Tent in December 2007, the group has signed up over 1100 members. Using our membership approval feature, Erin and Kristin have been able to build a candid community based on trust.

BigTent’s 25 in 25 Campaign

Grow your BigTent group by 25 members in 25 days and be entered to win $1,000!

Groups are about bringing great people together to share resources, ideas and information, but sometimes getting the word out about the groups can take a lot of time and energy.

That’s why we’ve decided to challenge our groups to add an additional 25 members in 25 days while providing them with an extra incentive.

We’re celebrating the “25 in 25” campaign by giving away four great prizes:

  1. $1,000 Group Grant to a group that grows by at least 25 members
  2. $500 Group Grant to a group with a creative offline group promotion
  3. $500 Group Grant to a group with a creative online group promotion
  4. A new iPhone 3G (plus $$$ towards a service plan) to one lucky member of a Big Tent group who gets their friends to join

BigTent celebrates its second Coach Summit

In mid-August we were honored to host our Community Coaches at the second semi-annual Coach Summit. The first Coach Summit was such a success that we decided to extend the event over two days, giving the coaches more time to meet with onsite team members and learn from each other.

The Summit offered a variety of workshops on topics central to the Coaching lifestyle: customer support, best practices for working remotely, reviewing new features, and sharing marketing strategies based on their own group leadership experiences. The energy and insight the Coaches brought to the table was priceless!

The Summit also marked a special personal occasion for some Coaches – the first time they spent extended time away from their families and young children. Jaine Murphy, a Coach, said she was “excited to have a night to herself and to only talk to adults all day.”

To balance out an intense schedule, we made sure the coaches had time to have fun and explore San Francisco. We took a team photo in our local park, we visited our servers, and enjoyed a scrumptious team dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant near the office.
